Around Lake Wenatchee you'll find hikes for all ages. Hidden Lake is a short easy hike great for kids and grandparents. For a stunning view, hike to the top of DirtyFace peak. Check with the Forest Service for more hike suggestions as well as trail maps and guide books.

Kahler Glen Golf & Ski Resort is a unique 18-hole mountain course set next to Lake Wenatchee State Park that will challenge your golfing skills.

Nearby Fish Lake teems with trout and perch. The Cove Resort on Fish Lake will get you set up with a license and fishing gear. You can rent a boat or fish right from their dock.

Kayaking and Canoeing

Paddle up the White River and you might see deer, coyote, raccoon, bald eagles, or maybe even a bear.

Pack a picnic lunch and head up the White River road. It's a flat ride through tall trees that open up to rich views of towering cliff and rocky canyons. Your destination could be White River Falls or any number of flowering meadows along the way. The road ends in a wilderness area. Along the way, pull into the Washington State natural resource area along the White River. Be very quiet and you might be treated to the sight of a family of resident beavers going about their work. And you can’t miss Eunice's grave. That's right. Pioneer Eunice Henry (1831-1913) was buried here by the side of the trail many years ago. When the Forest Service built the road, they decided not to disturb Eunice and her grave is there to this day right by the side of the road. Two crosses mark the site.

Horseback Riding

At the other end of the lake is the famed Lake Wenatchee State Park. Trail riding is a specialty of Icicle Outfitters. The whole family will love exploring the woods on horseback. More than five miles of equestrian trails are in and around the park. Horses can be rented for day rides or overnight pack trips. There are no public stables available.
More guided trail riding is available a short drive away at Mountain Springs Lodge in Plain. Yup, folks couldn't think of a better name than good old Plain when they named this tiny town in the pretty little valley over a hundred years ago. The pace here is laid back so relax and enjoy yourself. Check out the gift shop while you have an espresso at Plain Hardware. And across the street say hi to the friendly llamas.

Leavenworth, WA

The Bavarian themed town of Leavenworth is just 20 minutes away. You'll find shops, wineries, and dining. You can even catch a first run movie at the Junction Cinema. And the whole family will love the train ride, miniature golf, and the arcade at the Icicle Junction
